Margie was an exceptional woman who loved to travel and was an avid shopper. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was very generous when it came to helping others who were less fortunate. Above all, Margie loved her family and spending time with them. Margie was a “Navy wife” and was introduced to her husband by her older brother, a shipmate of Jack’s, in 1946. Jack and Margie spent the next 14 years moving around the country while Jack served in the Navy. When it came time for retirement, they chose Hot Springs, Jack’s home town.
Margie is survived by her children, Mike Lee (Suzanne) of Little Rock, Patty Longinotti (Buddy) of Hot Springs, Bill Lee (Mary) of Hot Springs, Nancy Harrist (Sidney) of Atlanta, Texas; siblings, Jim Gerry of Akron, Ohio, Chuck Gerry of Portland, Oregon, and Lois Maust of Garden Grove, California; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and special friend and travel companion, Ruth Hopkins.
Waiting for Margie in Heaven are her husband, Jack, and siblings, John Gerry, Bill Gerry, Bob Gerry, Doris Gerry and Dolores Riedinger.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lake Hamilton Health and Rehab, Arkansas Hospice, and Dr. Martin Koehn for all of their love, care and support. A Rosary will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 9:00 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am. A reception will follow the service and burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
