Michael Schnaufer, 84, of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021.
He was born in Kernei, Yugoslavia to the late Stefan & Katarina (Ott) Schnaufer. He was a survivor of World War II and immigrated with his entire family to the United States in the 1950’s. Michael was a devout catholic and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he was involved in various church activities. As a 4th Degree Knight, he was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Michael was known for, and took great pride in, being a problem solver. Given enough time there wasn’t a problem he couldn’t overcome.
In 2017, he was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Mary Schnaufer.
Survivors include his children Ingrid Mobbs (Forrest), Robert Schnaufer and Michael Schnaufer; brothers Anton Schnaufer, Matthias Schnaufer and Adolf Schnaufer; grandchildren Joshua Long, Stefan Long and Michael Baron Schnaufer; great-grandchildren Sam Long and Benjamin Long; and 7 nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Gross Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Michael was loved by all & will be greatly missed.
