We gather today in loving memory of Rebeca Diane Rico, a woman whose life was defined by love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of how truly fortunate we were to walk this earth alongside her.
Rebeca grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and attended Cutter Morning Star, where she began building the strong foundation of resilience and kindness that would shape her path. From a young age, she was known for her warm smile, silly humor, and generous heart—a heart that only grew larger with time as she built a life centered on love and family.
Rebeca was a devoted mother to her two children, Carmelita McCoy and Christopher Rico. Her pride in them was boundless, and she never missed an opportunity to celebrate their joys or support them through their challenges. Carmelita and her husband Michael McCoy gave Rebeca the joy of three beautiful grandchildren—Draven, John, and Anna—each one a shining light in her life. Her son Christopher and his wife Kristina Rico blessed her with two more grandchildren, Christian and Chase, who brought so much laughter and energy into her days.
Family was everything to Rebeca. She was not just a mother and grandmother, but a sister, a confidante, and a constant source of strength. She shared a lifelong bond with her brother Richard Stolz and her sister Rosa Riddell.
Rebeca had a remarkable ability to make people feel at home. Her home was a place where stories were shared, meals were savored, and laughter echoed through the walls. She nurtured more than just her own family—she offered love and warmth to anyone in need. Her legacy is one of selflessness, grace, and a deep, enduring faith that guided her every step.
Though today we grieve her absence, we also celebrate her incredible life. We remember her as a mother who led with love, a grandmother who radiated pride, a sister who stood strong, and a friend who never wavered. The lessons she taught us—in compassion, resilience, and unconditional love—will continue to live in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and everyone who knew her.
Rebeca Diane Rico was deeply loved, and she will be forever missed. But her spirit remains with us—in the family she built, the love she shared, and the lives she touched.
Rest peacefully, Rebeca. Your light lives on.
