Ricky spent his career tearing apart, repairing and putting back together crop duster airplanes. He was extremely intelligent and could put together an airplane from pieces and parts laying on the ground, with no direction, instructions or formal education. He was a valued asset to the area crop duster pilots who knew that they could depend on him to keep their airplane in tip top condition.
Ricky was a loyal and dependable employee, a hard worker that was always at work and on time. He was respected and loved by his airplane community. He will be missed by them.
Ricky lived his whole life in Helena and Marvell. The stories of fun and adventure from his and his brother Ralf's high school and early adulthood days could be considered "epic"! The cars, dragging Cherry Street, the group floating The Spring River, camping at Many Islands, weekends riding the Levee shooting 22's; The Varsity Club and Queen of Clubs, need we say more?? Ricky was an outgoing and happy guy, so full of laughter and smiles! His laughter was truly memorable!
Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Bill Bailes. He is survived by his mother, Renate Sevier, his brother Ralf Bailes, and a host of other family members. A service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
