

He was born in Hanford, California September 29, 1961, to Sherrod B. Thompson and Judy Livingston Thompson.
Sherrod is survived by his mother ,Judy Thompson, two daughters, Shelbey(Jack) Hollingsworth,Sybil(Matt)Smith,step son Seth(Angie)Draper, grandchildren, Jack,Elias,Joseph,Samuel and Kate Hollingsworth, Brodie , Jeremy Draper. Brother Fred (Nadia)Thompson lll, uncle Fred(Lynda) Thompson, aunt Linda Harris. Nephew Jake ( Kaitlyn)Thompson and niece ,Anna (Greg)Thompson ,Shellie Thompson,mother of his two daughters ,and many cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Thompson , his father Sherrod B.Thompson Jr.,aunts ShervenaGrubbs, Rebena Graham, Rose Marie Thompson, uncle Don Harris.
Sherrod graduated from Russellville,AR. Class of 1980.He attended Arkansas Tech and UALR. While the last ten years were filled with challenging health struggles, he faced these with courage, dignity, and grace. Near the end of his life Sherrod expressed gratitude to God for his journey. He was so thankful for his family and friends that brought him such joy. To those that knew him well, he always acted with kindness and compassion, extending forgiveness freely based on his strong held belief that much grace and forgiveness had been extended to him as a follower of Jesus.
He was a lifelong fan of the Cowboys, Razorbacks,fast cars, and cooking shows . He loved to be outdoors watching and listening to the birds and his radio with his Jack Russell,Bobby. He was a great storyteller and knew how to get a good laugh.
His family would like to thank his personal friend Mike Webster, who was like a brother to him ,who cared for him through his last months. Also CHI Home Health,and Arkansas Hospice, for their strong compassion for Sherrod and all of his family.
Visitation will be at Gross Funeral Home Sunday June 8, 2025 at 3:00,followed by a memorial service at 4:00.
