Stephen Mark Diggs, 64, of Royal, AR, passed away on February 17, 2026. A long-time divorced man, he is survived by his two sisters, Nita and Marie, and his brother Dudley, who preceded him in passing in 2013. Stephen shared a special bond with Dudley, and they spent many years side by side.
Although he had no children of his own, Stephen loved children dearly and cherished getting “good hugs.” He was a caring father figure and a dear friend to Chris and his boys, affectionately known as “the three little Indians.” His loyal companion was his dog, Lucky, whom he loved with all his heart.
A devoted Master Mason for nearly 30 years, Stephen also worked for many years as a millwright and later as a truck driver. His final employment was with Garland County, where he drove dump trucks until an on-the-job accident and injury brought his career to a halt.
Stephen was skilled and patient with his hands—working on cars, leatherwork, and various projects with meticulous care. He loved his Harley motorcycle and enjoyed riding it for many years. An avid hunter and gun collector, he spent years pursuing deer and building his firearm collection.
After a foot injury at work slowed him down, Stephen spent many mornings at Burger King with his cherished friends, sharing stories over coffee and a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Though private by nature, many people believed he didn’t have many friends, but in reality, he was loved by a wide circle of family and friends. His big heart and generous spirit made him willing to help anyone in need, never asking for anything in return. Though he could be cantankerous at times, his kindness and loyalty shone through.
Stephen will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We are thankful for the time we shared and will forever hold his memory close in our hearts.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
