On December 25, 2024, Alice Mae Harris Jones departed from this life and entered into eternity to be with the Lord.
Alice Mae Harris Jones was born to the late Freddie and Louise Deville Harris on November 24, 1931.
Alice Mae Harris Jones was baptized at St. Peter Baptist Church at an early age. She served as an usher. Alice Mae enjoyed begin in the service of the Lord and she loved serving others.
Alice Mae was married the love of her life Curtis Jones and through this unity eleven children was born. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, and aunt willing to exhibit sacrificial love for her family as Christ did for all of us.
Alice Mae leaves to cherish her memories seven daughters, Esther (Wallace) Young, Doris J. Jules, Amy (Willie) Calloway, Carolyn (Ernest) Lazard, Nellie M. Jones, Sandy (John) Miller and JoAnn (Curtis) Turner; four sons, Curtis (Sheril) Jones, Jr., David (Thelma) Jones, Leroy Jones and Pionell (LaMonica) Jones; one brother, Frank Harris; one daughter-in-law, Virginia Jones; two sisters-in-law, Noeme Harris of Houston, TX; and Jackie Harris of Dallas, TX; three godchildren, twenty-five grandchildren, fifty-seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Alice Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Jones, Jr; one son. Freddie L. Jones; parents, Freddie and Louis Deville Harris; two brothers, Freddie Harris, Jr. and Clarence Harris, Sr; seven sisters, Bernice H. Simmons, Nellie H. Baker, Louise A. Smith, Rosedale H. Williams, Anna H. Swan, Mazie Lee H. McKinley and Zenobia H. Swan; one grandson, Jamaal M. Jones.
