Beatrice Howard

A visitation for Beatrice will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 8:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM at New Magnolia Baptist Church, 427 LA Hwy 311, Schriever, LA 70395. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery, 1987 LA Hwy 311, Schriever, LA 70395.

Beatrice was born on September 29, 1931 in Houma, La to John and Rosetta Bender Scott. She was educated in the Terrebonne Parish System. She was employed for many years by One Hour Dry Cleaner. Her joy was her children, helping care for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and children in the community.

She was baptized at First Baptist Church of Schriever, under the leadership of the late Pastor Arthur Navarre, Sr. She served as a deaconess and was appointed as Mother-of- the- church .

On Friday May 2, 2025, she quit time and moved on to eternal.

She enjoyed gardening and cooking the vegetables from her labor. Her kitchen stove always had pots filled with delicious food. No one was a stranger - everyone was welcome to a hot meal served with love.

Fond memories will be cherished by her children, Lynnwood (Mary) Scott, Priscilla (Harold) Diggs, Pastor John (Pamela) Scott, Henry Scott, Isaac (Betty) Scott, Rhubin Scott, Joseph Scott, Clarence Scott, Milton Scott, Tammy (Sterling) Robinson; one Brother Isaac (Dut) Scott, one daughter-in-law Earline Scott, fifty four grandchildren, one hundred and one great grandchildren, thirty-five great great grandchildren, seven great great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Howard, Parents John and Rosetta Bender Scott, Children Rosie Livas, Emily Scott, Loumenty Scott Allen, Rementer Howard Frye, Phillip Scott, James Howard, Raymond C. Scott, William Scott, 1 son-in-law George Allen, 5 brothers, John Scott Jr, Joseph Scott, Zack Scott, James Scott, Willie Scott; 2 sisters, Leola Scott Wright, Priscilla Scott Hawthorne, 10 brothers-in-law, and 9 sisters-in- law, including Mary Scott who was like a sister.
