Beatrice "Madea" Smith

A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. Luke Baptist Church, 3755 Bayou Black Drive, Houma, LA 70360. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Arthur Smith (Debbie), James and Bertel Stewart (Virginia); daughters, Jean Virgin (Gatley, Sr.), Juanita Stewart and Sheila Butler (Thomas); twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; godchild, Tammy Tony; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Smith; sons, Harold V. Stewart and Wayne Smith; daughter, Catherine Susie Ann Stewart; grandchildren, Gatley Virgin, Jr. and Jerenda U. Dillard; parents, Harry and Ruby Alvis McKinley; brothers, Harry, Jr., Melvin and Charles McKinley; sisters, Olivia Diggs, Hazel Porche, Shirley Mae McKinley and Rosemary Williams; and godchild, Stephanie Mitchell.
