Betty Ann Jacquet

Visitation will be observed on Tuesday February 21, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Morgan City. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, followed by the Omega Omega Service of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Sorority. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Father Freddie serving as the Celebrant. Burial will follow mass services in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Betty and the late Edward Martin Jacquet united in holy matrimony at Holy Eucharist Church on June 15, 1958. Mrs. Jaquet was employed as Educator for the St. Mary Parish School Board and later retired as a Title 1 Educational Supervisor. Betty was a charter member of the Confraternity of Our Lady Star of the Sea, a member of the Catholic Daughters for more than 40 years, a member of Come Lord Jesus and a member of the  of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Sorority, Inc.

She leaves to cherish his memory her loving and devoted daughter, Daphne Jacquet of Elizabethtown, KY; her grandson, Marlon Jones of Morgan City, LA; two sisters, Marva Madise and her husband, Whitney of Berwick, LA, and Patricia Hawkins of Morgan City, LA and a host nieces, nephews, friends and also the students that she helped to educate in the St. Mary Parish School System.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Martin Jacquet; her parents, Landry Banks, Sr. and Martha Rutledge Banks; one brother, Landry Banks, Jr. and two sisters, Nelwyn Jones and Constance Randlle.
