A public viewing will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Sunlight Baptist Church, 452 St. Patrick St., Raceland, LA, 70394. Burial will follow in Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Leonard Celestine, III. (Mary), Steven Celestine (Aimee), Frank Celestine (Tabitha) and Randy Celestine (Tamika); daughter, Annette Boyd (Arthur); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald (Mona), Sterling (Patricia), Curtis (Louise) and Isiah Poindexter (Elsie); sisters, Alice Washington (Gary), Sharon Davis and Emelda Taplin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Joseph; son, Ronald Celestine; parents, Joseph, Sr. and Lula Mae Boloney Poindexter; brother, Joseph Poindexter; and sisters, Gloria Johnson, Ruth Ann Thompson and Mary Poindexter.
