“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again; But the wicked shall fall into mischief.” Proverbs 24:16 (KJV)
On August 30, 1975, an 8 lb. 1 oz. bouncing baby boy was born to the parentage of Lillie C. Williams and the late Albert Earl Robinson at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, Texas. They named him Dijon.
Dijon was baptized at an early age at Triumph Baptist Church in Gibson, Louisiana, under the leadership of the late Rev. James Williams. His favorite song, “Jesus Is the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me,” reflected the sincerity of his faith and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life.
A proud 1997 graduate of H. L. Bourgeois High School in Gray, Louisiana, Dijon enjoyed his early years playing youth football and exploring his interest in music, especially the keyboard. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and easygoing nature made him a joy to be around.
In time, Dijon met and married the love of his life, Antoinette Vincent, with whom he helped lovingly raise three stepsons: Yusef Vincent, Larry Smith, and the late Salem Vincent. He embraced his role with patience, guidance, and a steady heart.
Dijon leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Antoinette Robinson; his loving mother, Lily May Celestine Williams of Houma, LA; one daughter, Makynzie Miller; two step-sons, ,Yusef Vincent and Larry Smith; two sisters, of Houston, TX; one uncle, Alton Robinson; aunt, Mildred Murphy; one niece, Kayla Neville; cousins, Joyce Clark of Ama, LA, and Irma Jean McGuire of Laplace, LA; God-father, Norman Duncan of Thibodaux, LA; God-brothers, Javon and Travon Ballard of Ama, LA, Cornelius Duncan of Thibodaux, LA, Larry Duncan of Colorado, and Edward E. Clark; God-sisters, Darlene Duncan of Thibodaux, LA, Teresa Miles of Houma, LA, Sarah Ruffin of Gibson, LA, and Tiffany Ballard; best friend, Joshua Jackson; and a host of relatives and friends.
Dijon was preceded in death by his father, Albert Earl Robinson; 2 brothers, Albert Robinson and Darnell Christopher Williams; stepson, Salem Vincent; grandmother, Inez Patterson; grandfather, Dave Celestine; great-grandmother, Elizabeth Patterson; mother-in-law, Martha Vincent and father-in-law, Haywood Clay; and Godmother, Trudell Clark Ballard.
A host of extended family and friends also mourn his passing and celebrate the life of a man who was humble, kind, and steadfast in spirit.
Dijon will be remembered for his gentle demeanor, his faith in God, and the love he carried for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The family of Dijon Robinson extend a special thankyou to Fresenius Kidney Care of Thibodaux, LA for their exceptional care and consideration during his illness.
Job didn't get his life back; he got a new one. God didn't restore what he lost; he rewrote the ending and gave him more than he had before. Some pain won’t be explained but it will be redeemed.
Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home, 230 S Hollywood Rd. Houma, LA 70360, on Friday; May 22, 2026, from 9:00 am until Celebration of Life Service at 11am. Interment Triumph Baptist Church Cemetery, 6313 Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, LA 70356
