

Edward Wilson, Jr., age 34, a native of Franklin and resident of St. Gabriel, was called to home to rest on Friday, January 13, 2012 following a short illness at his residence. Visitations will be at Jones Funeral Home, 1101 Main St. Franklin, La., from 11:00 AM until funeral at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville, La. Edward Frederick Wilson, Jr. (""Toot""), was born on March 31, 1977 at Franklin Foundation to Edward Wilson, Sr. and Beverly Ann Knight-Wilson. He was baptized at age 12 by Pastor Joseph Fields at St. Joseph Baptist Church. He was the eldest of two children. He was affectionately known as ""Toot"" by his family and friends. Edward was educated in the St. Mary Parish School System in Franklin, LA. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1995 with a passion of entering the United States Armed Forces. In 1995 he went on to serve in U.S. Army at Fort Sill, OK. After his discharge, he became employed by Bay Offshore at the Port of Iberia as a scaffold builder. He later moved to Baton Rouge, LA to attend ITT Technical College, where he studied Air Conditioning and Electrical Technology. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service, while receiving his college education. He loved to fish and was an avid Tennessee Titans fan. He loved cleaning his car and listening to music. He was a very kind and caring person who always used to say, ""God has done some good things for me, but I truly know He has a lot more in store to come."" One thing he never had to worry about was knowing whether or not his mom, dad, or sister had his back. He has touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Edward was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Inez Wilson, Sr., and Annie Mae Knight; uncles, Glen Wilson, Alonzo Knight, Sr., and Crawford Wilson, Sr. He leaves to cherish his loving parents, Edward, Sr. and Beverly Wilson; one devoted sister, Danielle Wilson-Johnson and her husband, Nick Sr. of Baker, LA; three beloved daughters, Alana Wilson, Tahjiana and Tahshairy Peters, of Franklin, LA; one grandchild, Kaslon Peters; one treasured niece and godchild, Nikiyah Johnson; two treasured nephews, Cameron and Nick Johnson, Jr., all of Baker, LA; grandfather, Ulysses Knight, Sr. of New Iberia, LA; godfather, Rayfield Fontenot, godbrother, T'Jon Declouet, both of Franklin, LA; three great aunts, Helen Wiley-Carson and her husband, Jeff Sr. of Baldwin, LA; Mary Dell Cola of Jeanerette, LA; Mercedes Tyson and her husband, Tim of Port Arthur, TX; three aunts, Felecia Mitchell and her husband, Bernard Sr., and Julius Wilson (godmother), both of Franklin, LA; and Tiffany Warner of New Iberia, LA; uncles, Anthony, Darrell, Frank, and Joseph Wilson, Jr., all of Franklin, LA; Curtis Knight and his wife, Sherrie of Bayou Vista, LA; Ulysses Knight and his wife, Tammy of Verdunville, LA; and Stephone Knight of Jefferson, LA; and a host of other loving relatives and very dear friends.
