Elton Guidroz Sr.

A visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home, located at 230 S Hollywood Rd., Houma, LA 70360, on February 12, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Following the visitation, a religious ceremony will take place at the same venue from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The committal service will be held at Saint Mary Catholic Church Cemetery, located at 3500 LA-Hwy 1, Raceland, LA 70394, on February 12, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

Elton Guidroz, Sr., affectionately known as "Daddy", "PawPaw", "Grandpa", "Bondo", "Wapp", "OG" and more, was born to the proud parentage of Lawless and Odeal Guidroz.

He married Geraldine "Sally" Wheaton on January 25, 1964, and celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past January. A devoted man who accepted the Lord as his Savior, and baptized by the late Timothy Boyd at New Fountain Baptist Church in Lockport, LA.

He was the proud father of three children (plus two) whom he dearly loved: Elton Guidroz, Jr., Bryan (Deon) Guidroz, Laurie Ann Guidroz, Gerrilynne (Lance) Folse, and Malaak Guidroz.

Elton was a hardworking man who spent several years at Valentine Sugar Mill until accepting a job as a welder at Bollinger Shipyard. Upon retiring, he continued working as a concrete finisher.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, children, grandchildren, sister--Jaqueline Staples, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters- in-law, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins, mother-in-law, and other family and friends.
