Freddie Mae Mitchell

A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at New Rising Sun Baptist Church, 230 St. Charles Street in Houma. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Ray Mitchell, Sr.; sons, Leonard (Gloria), Earl Ray, Jr. (Penny) and Bobby Mitchell; daughters, Yvette Mitchell; devoted granddaughters, Yvonne and Melinda Mitchell; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; godchildren, Carol Morgan, Steven Hawkins, Travis Valentine and Michael Boykin; brothers, Darryl Matthews (Daisy), Willie and Freddie Morgan; sisters, Norman Morgan, Sandra Valentine, Maxine Dillard, Faye Williams, Joyce Lane (Samuel), Elaine Brown, Cora Matthews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Joshua Daiquan Mitchell; parents, Freddie, Sr. and Elizabeth Brown Morgan; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Rosa Miller Morgan; maternal grandparents, James, Sr. and Lilly Mae Brown; brothers, Roy Jeff and Eddie Morgan; sisters, Jeanette and Barbara Brown, Beryl Adams, Patricia Morgan and Kathleen Calloway.
