A public viewing will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 4928 North Bayou Black Drive in Gibson, LA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Johnson Short; son, Frederick Short (Nakia); daughters, Ramona Adams (Claude, Jr.) and Shwanda Thibodaux (Ron); five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Harvey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe, Sr. and Nola Calloway Short; brothers, Warren, Joseph, Sr., Moses, Roland, Sullivan, Melvin and Ulysses, Short, Sr.; sisters, Betty Brinson, Susie Short and Verleen Junior.
