Gertrude Diggs Johnson, age 101, a native of Gibson, La., and a resident of Morgan City, La., died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 2:55 AM Teche Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Morgan City, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery. Gertrude leaves to cherish her memories; one son, Anthony Johnson of Morgan City, La., one sister, Olivia Diggs Johnson of Los Angeles, Calif; and a host of relatives and friends. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, Wheeler Johnson and Mary Lagard Johnson, one son, and two daughters.
