Harold "Rock" James Turner

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Beautiful Zion Baptist Church, 120 Hialeah Avenue, Houma, LA 70360, with Rev. G. R. Washington officiating. Burial will follow in Deweyville Cemetery.

He is survived by: his wife, Symentruss Cook-Turner; one son, Harold Gregory Turner; four sisters, Elaine Rutledge, Lois Theriot, Claudette Johnson (Ernest) of Houma and Claudia Cotton (Jerry) of Chicago, IL; three brothers, Ronnie Jones (Robin) of Dayton, OH, Thomas Turner (Wanda), Morris Tuner (Bertha) of Chicago, IL; one aunt, Hannah Mae Lewis; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by; his parents, Henry and Catherine Ringold Turner; a brother, Michael Turner; a sister, Joan Steward; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Charlotte Ringold; and paternal grandparents, Henry, Sr. and Daisy Turner.

He was a member of Beautiful Zion Baptist Church and an usher.
