A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home chapel, 230 S. Hollywood Road in Houma, LA. Burial will follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery in Gibson, LA.
She is survived by her sons, Robert and Bernard Baker (Barbara); daughter, Nellie Patterson (Lester); fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maxine Poindexter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Baker; son, Roland Baker; parents, Townsend and Castina Matthews Poindexter; brothers, Lloyd, Willie and Albert Poindexter; sisters, Laura Royal, Annie Rollins, Naomi Poindexter, Rosetta Maryland and Mildred Mallet.
