Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Eagle Wright Baptist Church, 3590 Hwy 316 in Gray, LA. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Zilton Harding; daughters, Lisa (Elliott) Aiken and Arnaissha Polly; sons, James, III (Tara) Harding, Travis (Tranace) Valentine, Lindsey Hester, and Christopher (Lisa) Hester); nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, John, Jr. and Therode Batiste; sisters, Lenora Stevenson and Isadora Delahousaye; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Harding Batiste; sisters, Victoria Peters and Delores Fleming.
