John "JP" Parker, Jr

John ""JP"" Parker, Jr., age 68, a resident of Patterson, La., and a native of Bayou Sale, La., died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center. Visitation will be Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Little Zion Baptist Church of Verdunville, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Nazarene Cemetery. JP leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Gertrude Tillman Parker of Franklin, La; his mother, Tempie K. Parker of Verdunville, La; four sons, John Hernandez Parker of Patterson, La., Lynnis R. Parker of Verdunville, La., Chadwick Gunner of Houston, TX., and Ronald K. Gunner of Lafayette, La; five stepsons, Brian Collins of Nashville, TN., Ben Collins of Youngsville, La., Darrell Collins of Montgomery, Ala., Arnole Collins of New Orleans, La., and Leonard Collins of Baton Rouge, La; two daughters, Stephanie Joseph of Patterson, La., and Tonya Gunner of Verdunville, La; one stepdaughter, Wanda Griffin of Franklin, La; three brothers, Charles D. Parker of Centerville, La., Adolph Parker, Sr. of Gibson, La., and Timothy Parker of Franklin, La; two sisters, Rev. Rosie M. Austin and Mary L. Stansbury both of Centerville, La; eight grandchildren, nineteen step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren, twenty-five step great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
