Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Beacon Light Baptist Church, 4325 West Park Avenue, Gray, LA 70359, with Pastor Troy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Emmanuel Baptist Cemetery, 2709 Senator Street, Houma, LA 70360.
He is survived by: his wife, Geraldine Wallis-Simmons; five daughters, Deidra Simmons, Lindsey Simmons, Crystal Quinn, Trina Sylvester, and Tania Davis; three sisters, Aldine Navy, Barbara Lewis (Henry) and Irma Williams; three brothers, Alvin Simmons (Linda), William Simmons (Claudia) and Charles Simmons, Sr. (Lois); and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Rev. Kermit, Sr. and Leola Goings Simmons; a brother, Kermit Simmons, Jr.; and sister, Audrey Simmons Picou.
