

Born into a close-knit community, Mr. Barrow dedicated his life to hard work, faith, and family. He married his beloved wife, Brenda Lee Collins Barrow, on April 17, 1967, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Their union was blessed with four children.
Mr. Barrow was a faithful member of Eagle Wright Baptist Church, where he found strength and fellowship. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—hunting, fishing, cooking, playing cards and dominoes, and most of all, spending cherished time with his family. His legacy lives on through his 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought him immense joy.
He is survived by his wife of 58 yrs, Brenda Lee Collins Barrow; sons, Melvin Barrow, III and Christopher Barrow of Gray, Louisiana; and daughters, Denise Barrow of Gray, Louisiana, and Sheimekia Nixon of Houma, Louisiana; brothers, Alexander Barrow of Raceland, Louisiana, and Claudell Welch, Chester Welch, and Russell Barrow of Gray, Louisiana; sisters, Barbara James, Shirley Patrick, Thelma Short, and Brenda Smith, all of Gray, Louisiana.
Mr. Barrow is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Barrow, Sr.; his mother, Zenobia Barrow; his daughter, Patrice Barrow; grandchildren Zoria Barrow and “Baby” Barrow; great-grandchild Knora James; brothers Lionel Barrow, Sr. and Lawrence Barrow; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mr. Barrow will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to family, and the countless lives he touched with kindness and humility. His memory will remain a guiding light for all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held at Eagle Wright Baptist Church, located at 3590 LA-316, Gray, LA 70359, on December 20, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will take place on December 20, 2025, at Garden of Memories, located at 3658 W Main St, Gray, LA 70359.
