Omar Shari Harvey

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 5:00 PM until funeral services at 6:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home 715 Sixth Street Morgan City, LA 70380. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing). Burial will be Monday September 27, 2021 in the New St. Paul Church Cemetery in Houma, LA. 

Memories of Omar will forever remain in the hearts of his wife, Cheri Marie Harvey of Houma, LA; mother, Constance Harvey; father, Joseph Johnson, Jr.; siblings, Joseph Johnson, III, Yolanda Collins, Jolanda Johnson, Leticia Johnson, Jessica James, Joey James, Jarret Johnson, Julian Johnson, Jabarri Harding, Jermaine Johnson, Jayla Johnson, and Jassidy Vaugh; children he helped to rear, Katelynn Shelby, Skyla Shelby, Brooke Shelby, Kallie Shelby, Larissa Gray; one god-daughter, Khadijah Johnson; god-parents, Loretta (Gary) Thomas and Jessie Ray; devoted brother-in-law, Floyd Celestin; three step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Omar was preceded in death by his two sisters, Angela Lawrence and Shawasaki Harvey; maternal grandparents, Nancy Swing and James Harvey; paternal grandparents, Joseph Johnson, Sr., and Earline Johnson; maternal great-grandparents, Ruth Harris and Arthur Swing, and his paternal great-grandparents, Cecile Verrett Johnson and Emmanuel Johnson, Sr.
