

Prentiss Wallace, Sr., age 56, a resident of Houma, La., and a native of Crystal Springs, MS., died Monday, July 2, 2012 at his residence at 10:30 P.M. Prentiss was a retired employee of Terrebonne Parish School District. Prentiss was a Jehovah's Witness, he served in The United States Marine Corps, and was a member of the St. Joseph Masonic Hall in Thibodaux, Louisiana. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, plowing, and constructing. Visitation will be Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM., at the Houma Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on HWY 311 Service: 1:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Ranch Cemetery (Jeruselum) in Houma, La. Prentiss leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Shirley ""Sue"" Johnson Wallace of Houma, Louisiana; three sons, Prentiss (Karmisha) Louis Wallace, Jr. of Byram, Mississippi; Shane Sanders of Thibodaux, Louisiana, and Wendell Shelby-Wallace of Houma, Louisiana,; one daughter, Tiffany Purnell of Jackson, Mississippi; one brother, Alfred Young of Jackson, Mississippi; three sisters, Regina (Hughlon) Jackson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Chandra (Fletcher) Floyd of Decatur, Georgia; Sherry Wallace of Flowood, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Brianna Wallace, Peyton Keener, and Geovunn Miller of Byram, Mississippi, one godchild, Lajohn Celetine; five aunts, Annett Jones of Terry, MS., Flora Boyd of Dearfield, FL., Alice Hicks, Lillian Montgomery and Mary Wallace all of Jackson, MS; five uncles, Livert (Johnnie) Phillips, Jr., and Willie L. William both of Jackson, MS., James (Ruthie) Wallace of Cleveland, Ohio, C.P. (Barbara) Wallace of Birmingham, AL and G.W. (Arcola) Wallace of Terry, MS; and a host of relatives and friends. Prentiss was preceded in death by his grandparents, L.E. Phillips and Livert Phillips, Sr.; his parents, Doretha Phillips Wallace and Elder Ivy Wallace; and an uncle, George Baker, Sr.
