Shirley Mae Matthews

Visitation and funeral services will be observed on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 8:00 AM until funeral time at 10:00 AM at Residence Baptist Church 2605 Isaac St., Houma, LA 70363. Burial at Residence Cemetery. 

Memories of Shirley will forever remain in the hearts of her children; Arnold M. Collins, Lisha C. Thomas of Dallas, TX; Lucretia Collins, Courtney S. Collins and Wyonekia Collins all of Houma, LA.  Brothers; Willie Robinson, Sr., and Charles Robinson; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel Robinson and Ellen Harris Robinson.  Husband; Hayward Matthews, Sr., son; Steven D. Collins and daughters; Madelyn C. Sanders and Tanya Shapell Collins. Brothers; Stanley Robinson, Sr., Nathaniel Robinson, Jr., Curtis, Percy, Edward and Jim Robinson. Sisters; Joyce Robinson Bradley, Luberta Robinson Nash, Vellia Robinson Bellizana, Ellen Robinson Payton, Mary Robinson Harris, Betty Robinson and Helen Robinson. Three grandchildren; J'Vuan Ruffin, J'Quan Ruffin and Yana Sanders. Son in-laws; Dexter Sanders and Sam Thomas.
