Troy W. Matthews, age 40, a native and a resident of Morgan City, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Teche Regional Medical Center at 5:55 PM. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at New Zorah Baptist Church in Morgan City, La., from 10:00 AM until funeral at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Trinity United Methodist Cemetery in Baldwin, La. Troy leaves to cherish his memory; his parents, Timothy (Joyce) Matthews, Sr. of Morgan City, La; one son, Tre' Michael Matthews of Berwick; six brothers, Timothy Matthews, Jr. and Kerry Matthews both of Morgan City, Tris Matthews of Broussard, La., Donald (Edna Renee) Matthews of Kileen, TX., Daniel (LaToya) Matthews of New Orleans, La., and John Matthews of Berwick, La; one sister, Terri Matthews (Eugene) Foulcard of Franklin, La; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, the late Rev. John (Marina) Harris of Franklin, La., and paternal grandparents, Percy (Ethel Lee) Matthews of New Iberia, La.
