“We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8 New King James Version
Willie Robinson Sr. was born on November 26, 1933 to Nathaniel and Ellen Harris Robinson and was educated in the Terrebonne Parish School District.
While young, he accepted Christ and was baptized by Reverend Thomas J. Ellis. He was a lifelong member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and a Deacon for more than sixty years under the leadership of Reverend James Allen Sr.and Reverend Ralph Young.
He was united in holy matrimony to Mary Lee Carter Robinson on March 28, 1954. They were blessed with seven children, fourteen grandchildren, and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.

He later became an employee of Avondale Shipyard where he remained until he retired. Willie Robinson Sr. was a master welder and instructor. His expertise played a pivotal role in the construction of two critical classes of U.S. Naval vessels (Henry J. Kaiser; Whidbey Island) leaving a lasting mark on naval shipbuilding excellence.
Gardening brought him great joy! After a long day of work you could find him in the field. He planted a variety of fruits and vegetables. At the age of 74, he was pictured in the Houma Courier newspaper as, “ Gibson Man Grows 7 Pound Sweet Potato”.

His legacy is one to be desired. He was a man of prayer and power. As a dedicated member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, his passion for power led him to plead the Blood of Jesus over your situation wherever you needed him to do so.
He loved his family. All who knew him recognized the love he had for his beautiful wife, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, neighbors, church family, and pastors.
