In Loving Memory of Abel Noel Mendoza Jr.

Abel Noel Mendoza Jr., lovingly known as “Pops,” passed away peacefully at home alongside his beloved wife, Cenovia, on August 25, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on November 10, 1961, in Roswell, New Mexico, Abel lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love.

A proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Abel was known for his generosity, open heart, and devotion to others. Music and cooking were his joys—whether it was Tejano or old-school rock filling the home, or meals he lovingly prepared to bring his family together. To Abel, mealtime was sacred, and family was everything.

He is survived by his wife, Cenovia Mendoza, his children Abel Noel Mendoza III, Andres Antonio Mendoza, and Amanda Lilliana Mendoza, his grandchildren Rosaline Amora Mendoza, Deliah Ja’Ness Alaniz, and Jace Lynn Alaniz, his younger brother Paul Anthony Mendoza, and his nephew Paul Anthony Mendoza Jr.

Abel will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, beloved brother, and the heart of his family. His faith, his love, and his legacy will live on through all who knew and cherished him.

A visitation for Abel will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087. A prayer service will occur Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Parish Office, 2405 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at South Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.
