Adolf Petry

Adolf was born January 20th, 1934 to Marianne and Walter Petry in Idar-Oberstein Germany. In 1962, he married Ilse Petry in Idar-Oberstein. In 1963 he and his wife, Ilse, emigrated to Houston, TX. He took a job as a Mercedes mechanic at Holder Motors near the River Oaks neighborhood, where he worked for almost 30 years. He spent his last 15 years of employment at Texas German Autohaus till he retired at age 70. He loved to travel to his hometown in Germany every year other than the three times he traveled to China. At age 72, he applied for US Citizenship and was granted a rare honor in Germany of receiving dual-citizenship status retaining his German Citizenship.

Adolf is survived by his two sons Mark and Adolf Jr., Mark’s wife Rebecca and their daughter Kayla, his brother Rudi Petry in Germany, his cousins Anneliese Ross of Kemp, TX and Gerhard Busch in Germany.

A celebration of his life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 16th at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077, Reverend Bill Cole will be officiating.
