Agnes “Ackie” Evans , 92, passed away July 22, 2018 at her residence in Porter Texas. She was born March 29, 1926 in Dobbin, Texas to Paul and Catherine Mattern. She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years Jimmy Evans and 3 brothers and 8 sisters. Agnes is survived by one sister Ida Hoffart and numerous nieces and nephews. Although no children of their own, her and Jimmy treated the many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews as their own.
Special thanks to niece Carolyn, great-niece Katie and caregivers who allowed her to remain in the comfort of her home until the end. She was a kind lady and will be missed and remembered fondly.
The family will receive friends and family for the services on Friday, July 27, 2018; starting with the visitation at 11:30 a.m. in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A rosary will be recited at 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m. A committal service and interment will follow the funeral at Brookside Memorial Park.
