Quienes la conocieron de cerca, dicen que lo más impactante de Nora era su amor y generosidad para con los demás. Nora nunca pensó en su beneficio propio, sino que siempre buscó la manera de ayudar y ser una luz en la vida de quienes tuvimos el privilegio de conocerla. Nora era inigualable por su personalidad y por sus muchos talentos: cocinaba delicioso, sabía coser, bordar, pintar, diseñar...nada le quedaba grande. Pero su mayor logro, sin duda alguna, fue la orientación a sus cuatro hijos para que fueran personas de bien, se desarrollaran profesional y personalmente y crearan unas familias hermosas, siempre siguiendo el ejemplo de amor y dedicación que Nora inculcó en ellos.

Nora (Aida) Suárez Trujillo descansó en la paz del Señor, rodeada de sus seres queridos, a sus 75 años, en Houston, Texas, el 19 de diciembre de 2025.

Aida María, o Nora como era más conocida, nació en Garzón, Huila, Colombia en 1950. Fue la mayor de los ocho hijos de Benjamin Suárez y Marina Trujillo de Suárez. Sus hermanos dicen que "Marina tuvo a Nora y rompió el molde", haciendo referencia a las grandes habilidades de Nora, con las que nadie podía competir. A todos nos marcó su mentalidad de acero, su carácter intachable, su legado de amor y servicio a los demás y su entrega a sus hijos, nietos, hermanos, sobrinos, familiares y amigos. Ella se le medía a todo y todo lo que hacía le quedaba súper bien... Sin embargo, lo que más disfrutaba era pasar tiempo en familia, ayudar a quienes lo necesitaban y alegrarle la vida a quienes la rodeaban.

Nora fue una mamá inigualable. Su amor por sus hijos no conocía límites. Fue una mujer muy luchadora, quien salió adelante como mujer cabeza de familia con sus hijos Martín, Lina y Margarita, hasta que conoció a Nano, el amor de su vida, con quien fue muy feliz. Juntos formaron una familia muy bonita, completándola con María Paola, la hija menor. Hasta el último día de sus vidas, Nano y Nora vivieron por sacar adelante a sus hijos, inculcándonos valores de familia, de honestidad, disciplina, resiliencia y humildad, y dándonos un ejemplo de entrega sin reservas por cada uno de nosotros.

Además de sus hijos, sus nietos fueron su mayor adoración. Lukas, Nikolas, Daniela, Mariana, Samuel, Juliana, Santiago, Nora, Julián e Isabella llenaron sus días de orgullo y felicidad, con sus muchas habilidades y logros, pero sobre todo, por el amor y respeto con el que la trataron hasta el último día de su vida.

Nora fue un miembro de familia y una amiga incondicional e intachable. Quienes la conocieron, recuerdan su legado de paz, lealtad y amor -con el mayor comentario siendo "Norita y yo nunca tuvimos una pelea." "Norita siempre fue tan servicial y cariñosa."

Nora será recordada por ser el mayor ejemplo de vida para sus hijos, nietos y para quienes tuvimos el privilegio de convivir con ella de cerca: Una mujer valiente con una mentalidad inquebrantable, que no se dejó doblegar por el mal de Parkinson. Una mujer fuerte, aguerrida y combatiente, y con un positivismo admirable. Aunque Nora no vivió una vida fácil, en sus últimos días, mientras luchaba con un cáncer muy agresivo, su oración a Dios fue de agradecimiento por haberle permitido vivir una vida plena y feliz.

Le precedieron en muerte sus padres, Benjamín Suárez y Marina Trujillo de Suárez, y su esposo Hernando (Nano) Martín. Le sobreviven sus hermanos, Margarita, Nancy, Miguel, Gloria, Olga, Claudia, Pedro, sus hijos y sus nietos.

Sus amigos y familiares están invitados a la celebración de vida que se llevará a cabo el martes 30 de diciembre, a las 10:30AM, en la iglesia católica de Santa Cecilia, 11720 Joan of Arc Dr, Houston, TX 77024.

Por favor, recuerden a Nora en sus oraciones con un Padre Nuestro, un Ave María y un Gloria al Padre por el descanso de su alma.

Those who knew Nora closely often say that what stood out most about her was her deep love and generosity toward others. Nora never thought of her own benefit, but always sought ways to help and be a light in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Nora was unmatched in her personality and many talents: she cooked deliciously, knew how to sew, embroider, paint, design… nothing was too big for her. Yet, her greatest achievement, without a doubt, was the guidance she gave her four children to ensure they would become good people, develop both professionally and personally, and create beautiful families, always following the example of love and dedication that Nora instilled in them.

Nora (Aida) Suárez Trujillo went to rest with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 75 in Houston, Texas, on December 19, 2025.

Born in Garzón, Huila, Colombia in 1950, Aida María—better known as Nora—was the eldest of eight children born to Benjamin Suárez and Marina Trujillo de Suárez. Her siblings often say, "Marina had Nora and broke the mold," highlighting Nora's exceptional abilities, which no one could surpass. Nora’s strong will, impeccable character, and her legacy of love and service to others left a lasting mark on everyone she met. She was dedicated to her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was always willing to take on any challenge, and everything she did was done with excellence. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, helping those in need, and bringing joy to those around her.

Nora was an unparalleled mother, with a love for her children that knew no limits. She was a determined woman who, as the head of her family, raised her children Martín, Lina, and Margarita on her own until she met Hernando (Nano) Martín, the love of her life, with whom she shared many years of happiness. Together, they built a beautiful family, which they completed with the birth of their youngest daughter, María Paola. From that day until the end of their lives, Nano and Nora worked tirelessly to support and guide their children, instilling in them values of family, honesty, discipline, resilience, and humility, and setting an example of unwavering dedication to each of them.

In addition to her children, Nora's grandchildren were her greatest source of joy. Lukas, Nikolas, Daniela, Mariana, Samuel, Juliana, Santiago, Nora, Julián, and Isabella filled her days with pride and happiness, not only because of their many achievements and talents but also because of the love and respect with which they treated her until the last day of her life.

Nora was an exemplary family member and a devoted, trustworthy friend. Those who knew her remember her legacy of peace, loyalty, and love, with the most common comment being, "Norita and I never had an argument." "Norita was always very supportive and loving.”

Nora will be remembered as the greatest example of life for her children, grandchildren, and for all of us who had the privilege of knowing her intimately. She was a courageous woman with an unbreakable spirit, never allowing Parkinson’s disease to defeat her. She was strong, determined, and full of admirable positivity. Although Nora did not have an easy life, in her final days, as she fought a very aggressive cancer, her prayer to God was one of gratitude for having been blessed with a full and happy life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Suárez and Marina Trujillo de Suárez, and her beloved husband, Hernando (Nano) Martín. She is survived by her siblings: Margarita, Nancy, Miguel, Gloria, Olga, Claudia, Pedro; her children; and her grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to the celebration of her life, which will take place on Tuesday, December 30, at 10:30 AM at the Catholic Church of Santa Cecilia, 11720 Joan of Arc Dr, Houston, TX 77024.

Aida Maria Suarez Trujillo will be celebrated by family and friends and her memory will live on always.
