Alexa Calderon was love, beauty and compassion. She was filled with laughter, kindness, and a heart that had endless room for the people she loved—especially the tiniest ones. At just 25 years young, Alexa lived every moment with the highest degree of confidence, lots of love, joy, and a little bit of country music playing in the background.
Alexa was born on July 2, 1999, in Houston Texas, to Loving Parents Ruben and Stacey Calderon who spoiled her every day of her life and will love her for the rest of theirs. Alexa was the kind of person who made life feel a little sweeter.
Alexa graduated from Hargrave High School in May 2018. She had the patience of an angel, which made her work at Good Shepherd Episcopal School so much more than just a job—it was her calling. She adored being around children, teaching them, nurturing them, and probably sneaking in a TikTok dance or two.
Alexa married the love of her life, Billy Smith, September 23, 2023, and together, they chased their happily ever after, enjoyed adventure, laughter, and, of course, many shopping trips where pink was always the color of choice.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Smith, her parents, Ruben and Stacey Calderon; her three protective (but not too serious) brothers, Stephan, Riley, and Reece; her sister-in-law Alyssa and her sweet little niece, Olivia who will grow up hearing stories of Aunt Alexa’s bright spirit and legendary shopping skills and her Grammy Linda Machorro and Grandma Becky Blanton.
Alexa lived boldly, loved deeply, and left a sparkle everywhere she went. Her love for travel took her far beyond Texas, but no matter where she went, home was always with the people she cherished most. In 2023, her travels took her to the Holy Land where Alexa was baptized in the Jordan River and received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior so we know Alexa is with the King of Kings.
Her time here was far too short, but the impact she made will last forever. In her honor, crank up some country music, wear something pink, and don’t forget to take the video—you know Alexa would.
A celebration of Alexa’s beautiful life will be held on March 10, 2025 at New Life Church at 12:30. The family asks that you honor Alexa by wearing pink, spreading kindness, dancing like no one’s watching, and loving life the way she did—fearlessly and with a full heart.
