Alfredo “Fred” Chavez, 74, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 20, 2013. Fred is preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe and Josefa Chavez. He is survived by his children Mary Gomez, Gilbert Chavez and wife Martina, Eddie Chavez and wife Mary; grandchildren, Keith Gomez, Angela Gomez, Loren Jerez and husband Mike; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, and 2 sisters, and other loving relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 25th from 4:00 pm – 9:00 with a Vigil Service being recited at 7:00 pm, Funeraria Del Angel, 6330 Gulf Freeway. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 26th at Funeraria Del Angel. Interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale.
