Allen was born in Houston on the 15th of December 1947, to William Eddie and Ruby Fay Summers, and was raised in the Heights. He was a graduate of Reagan High School.
He is preceded in death by his Father, William Eddie Summers, and two brothers, Eddie Ray and Wayne Harvey.
He is survived by his two children; son and daughter in law, Jeffery Allen and Jami Summers of Santa Fe, Texas; daughter and son in law, Stacey Lynne and Jeffrey Kohler of Magnolia, Texas. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Stella Holt of Willis, Texas; his mother, Ruby Fay Summers of McKinney, Texas; his brother, David William Summers of Allen, Texas and his long time close friend Effie Tanner of Chateau Woods, Conroe, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews.
Allen was the proud Grandfather of five grandchildren which he cherished; Emily, Mallory, and Reagan Summers and Kennedi and Cameron Kohler.
It was not uncommon to see them wrestling with “Pappa” and hearing him laugh with his loud deep roar.
Allen was employed by the City of Conroe. When not at work, Allen spent time with Effie helping their neighbors with yardwork and other miscellaneous chores. Since his teenage years, Allen loved working on cars and trucks. In addition, he loved to work outside clearing property, cutting trees for firewood, and just being with nature. Allen left us doing what he loved, working on clearing property with his son, son in law, and friend.
Allen is loved by many and will be missed by all. His mother stated she can only imagine what he, his brothers, and his daddy are cutting up about in Heaven. As his neighbor summed it up on Saturday, “God needed him now more than we did”.
