

Allyne Pearl Pollard, age 87, went to be with her Heavenly Father March 13, 2017. Allyne was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born September 9, 1929, to Ewald and Bernita Grawunder of Brenham, Texas. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Eddie Nash Pollard; son Kerry Pollard and wife Diane of Austin; son Byron Pollard and wife Kimberly of Houston; grandchildren Lauren and Scott Pollard of Austin; Mitchell Pollard of Houston; Bryce Waller and wife Lisa of San Antonio; Blair Waller of Houston; Evan Waller of New York; Eden Canlilar and husband Orcun of Washington, DC; and great-grandchildren Liam, Ryan and Emma Waller, children of Bryce and Lisa Waller.
She is also survived by her sister Verlyn Smith of Houston; brother Ewald Grawunder, Jr. and wife Alice of Brenham; and brother-in-law Bill Hurbrough of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Allyne was preceded in death by sister Gladys Hurbrough of Houston and brother Erwin Grawunder and wife Erna of Brenham.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Phillipsburg Lutheran Church in Brenham. Her hobbies were cooking, gardening, and traveling with her friends. She was a faithful member of the church she loved, St. Stephens United Methodist, since 1961. A longtime member of the Adult Bible Class, Allyne also taught Sunday School in the young people’s department for 18 years. Allyne retired from the Harper Beauty Salons after 45 years and continued her career at the Beauty Pavilion and the Salon of Woodway.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm at the Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, 1200 W 34th Street, Houston, Texas, on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery at 10:30 am followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm at St. Stephens United Methodist Church, 2003 W. 43rd Street, on Friday, March 17, 2017.
