Alvilda Thoede Durr

Alvilda Thoede Durr, age 93, was born on Jan. 17, 1919 in Houston, Tx. and passed away peacefully on March 21, 2012, in Houston. She was the 4th of 6 children, born to John and Marguerite Thoede. Alvilda graduated from Reagan High School in 1936. She was married to Robert C. Durr, on Feb. 28, 1941. Alvilda was preceded in death by her loving husband; parents; sister, Margaret McConnell; brothers, John, Lester, Floyd. She is survived by brother, Melvin and wife Joan; daughters, Donna Hyatt and husband Robert and Elizabeth “Betsy” Reinisch and husband Leon; sons, Robert Durr Jr. and wife Cheryl, John Durr and wife Carol and James Durr and Wife Deborah; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hyatt Gooch and husband Joel, Robert F. Hyatt IV, Robby Durr, Ross Durr and wife Lindsay, Justin Durr, Gregory Durr and wife Nina and Leslie Durr and husband Richard; great grandchildren, Autumn and Zane Merrill, Andie Durr and Genevieve Gooch. The family wishes to thank the staff of Tranquility Personal Care Home and Gulf Coast Hospice for their loving care and compassion to Alvilda. A visitation will be held in the main Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer on Sun., Mar. 25th from 6-8 PM with a Holy Rosary at 7 PM. The funeral Service will begin at 10 AM on Mon., Mar. 26th at Forest Park Westheimer. Interment will immediately follow.
