Alvin Henry, 87, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, was called to his heavenly home, Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, after a brief illness. A WWII Navy veteran, watchmaker, merchandiser, took early retirement from Montgomery Ward and finally retired from Second Baptist Houston. He was a man of many talents. He is survived by his cherished wife of 42 years Edna Joyce of Houston; Children: Kay Henry of Austin; Carol O’Brien of Houston; Deborah Pearle and husband Bob of Fort Worth; Barbara Chrisman and husband Lyndal of Sugar Land; Dale Henry of Austin; Linda Henry of Houston; Donna McMahon and husband Rusty of Mexia; and Robin Venable and husband Jamie of Houston; Sister: Carolyn Henry of Jacksonville, FL; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation and Service will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, Thursday, Nov 20 at 11:00 am with service at 12:30 pm. Interment at Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 pm.
