Today marks one year since my father passed away, and not a single day has gone by where I haven’t felt his absence.

My dad was my guide, my steady voice, and my greatest source of wisdom. I needed his advice then, and I still need it now. There are moments when I catch myself wanting to call him, to ask what he thinks, to hear his reassurance, and it still feels unreal that I can’t.

I wish more than anything that he could have met my son. I know he would have loved him deeply and been such an incredible grandfather. At the same time, I am endlessly grateful that he spent so much time with my daughter. She was lucky to know his love, his humor, and his presence—and I see pieces of him in her every day.

Grief hasn’t grown smaller over this year, but it has changed. It lives alongside gratitude: for the lessons he taught me, the strength he gave me, and the love he showed so freely. His influence continues to shape who I am as a parent, as a person, and as someone trying to live with integrity and kindness.

I miss you so much, Dad. I carry you with me in everything I do, and I always will.

Such great memories with Amir and Kathy from the 1989-1990’s!! As kids and life happened the distance between us became more vast and connecting less frequent…. However, Still… through the years — no matter how long in between connections — I could pick up the phone it was as if no time has passed in between. 

Seeing these pictures?? …., it’s bittersweet! 

You can see the beautiful spirit of Amir in each one!  THAT spirit and the joy he brought to others will forever live on. 

I only wish I had known About his home going service so my girls and I could’ve been there to pay our respects to all the family. For this I am sad. But… as stated, when there is love … it’s never really goodbye as Amir will always be alive in hearts and memories.

My heart aches as I say goodbye to my dad, Ugi, my best friend and my greatest inspiration. Ugi, you showed me the true meaning of love, strength, and dedication. Your incredible work ethic and the values you instilled in your children and grandchildren are truly priceless. You taught us the importance of kindness, resilience, and living with integrity, leaving a legacy that will guide us for the rest of our lives. Even in the face of your illness, you showed such strength and bravery, teaching me more about courage and grace than words ever could. You brought so much laughter and joy to everyone around you, always making even the hardest days brighter. It’s so hard to imagine life without you, but I will forever hold you in my heart and carry the lessons you taught me. I am so grateful for the time we had, the memories we made, and the incredible grandfather you were to Azarah, who loved and adored you. Please save a spot for me next to you in heaven, Dad, until I see you again. I love you endlessly, Ugi.

Amir has an open mind to all people and all subjects. He is always doing what he can to love and help his neighbors. He is humorous and optimistic. He is a hard working family man. We will miss him. We will continue to pass his karma to people and the future.

My one and only baby brother, Amir daadaash, I know in my heart it was not your time to leave us. So, it is almost impossible for me to say goodbye. 
Mom always said you were born centuries earlier, and that your consciousness level was way above the norm. You, my beautiful Amir Homayoon, never cared about the cover, yet deeply cared about the content; the essence, and that infrequent humanity in people, a trait as rare as yourself on this earth.
The true human Rumi Always searched for, and wrote about, hid in your essence my love.
Looking forward to finding that essence, the infinite part of you, in a new cover only to continue learning from, during our next lifetimes.

Ugi was the embodiment of strength and resilience. Despite facing the unimaginable battle with brain cancer, he never once complained. Through every challenge, he remained a beacon of love and positivity. His unwavering spirit reminded me that even in the most difficult times, love always wins. He showed me how to approach life with courage, grace, and a heart full of love, leaving a legacy that will forever inspire me. What I would give to hear your gooz medley one more time.

What can one say about a man that could not be more unique? Amir Daaie, you were the most supportive loving uncle to me my entire life. I can’t possibly think of one memory that sticks out because every single moment with you was memorable and stayed with me forever. You always made sure us kids got out into nature and appreciated our beautiful earth, exploring every nook and cranny of what life has to offer. You exemplified limitlessness and living life to the absolute fullest. Your love for music and uncanny ability to know every lyric of any song, taking the time to sit with me and explain the deep and profound meanings behind both Irooni and American classics played a massive role in the enormous impact music has had on my life, and the way in which it has guided me time and time again. I know you are dancing and singing among the stars, showing off your one of a kind moves to the angels and beyond. Your extraordinary life and energy will forever live on through us, all. Thank you for being the warrior that you always were, from the beginning to the end, and beyond. I vow to continue fighting the good fight in your honor.  With all of my love I wish you eternal peace. 🖤

I bear witness to one of the strongest people I have ever known, Amir Taymoori! Though our lives may have gone in different directions at times, we were married for 13 years and had two wonderful and top of the line kids together. We share many memories and you have always been there for me and for your family. We have spent many years speaking of everything in your life and mine. You were the best father to leyla and armon. Up until the end as we know it, they did everything you requested and stood beside you through it all. I know you would be proud and appreciative of them. You will be missed is an understatement. Go with the Lord and know in your heart that I will be beside our kids until the day we meet again. May the Lord comfort you and keep you safe. No more pain Ugi. I love you and will miss you from my soul.
