Andrea was born in Bucharest, Romania, on March 29, 1957. In 1985, she courageously immigrated to the United States with her young son and husband, seeking a better life for her family and new opportunities. She made her home in Houston and the surrounding areas, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Andrea built a meaningful and hardworking career over the course of her life. After arriving in the U.S. built a successful sign business with her husband and later spent many years managing local restaurants, where her warmth and attention to detail left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. Later in life, driven by a desire to care for others, she earned her medical assistant certificate and began working in the healthcare field—a role she considered her most cherished calling. She took immense pride in supporting patients and building life-long friendships with her colleagues, always offering kindness and calm in moments that mattered most.
Andrea was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Maria and Stefan Cadindatu, and her brother, Liviu Candidatu.
She leaves behind her son, Alin Dinu and her daughter in law; Bonnie Saynay, her grandson, Reid Dinu; grand-daughters in law, Elan Saynay Cohen and Ariel Peters and their husbands, Jeremy Cohen and Howard Allen Peters IV, her niece, Carmen Green; her first-cousin, Mihaita Navala; and a close circle of family and friends who meant the world to her.
What we valued most in her was her courage and fierce independence. The courage to leave her homeland in search of something better, the courage to reinvent herself again and again, and the courage to face serious health challenges in recent years with dignity and grace. Andrea was the most courageous and full-spirited woman we know. Her strength, generosity, and determination will be deeply missed and remembered always.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery on Friday, May 9th at 11:00am where friends and loved, ones are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life.
