

Andrew “Andy” Lee Alke, age 75, of Houston, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022. He was born on September 4, 1947 to Roger and Rose Alke (Dobler) in Seattle, Washington. On December 15, 1973 he married his first love, Marie Alke. They enjoyed 49 years together.
Andy graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and worked at notable places such as Westinghouse Electrical Company and Toshiba International Corporation. In the early 2000’s, he went back to school and obtained a Master’s in Mathematics. He used his degree to teach at Lone Star College and taught College Algebra, Statistics and Trigonometry.
In his spare time, he loved playing tennis and spent much of his time at the Copperfield Racquet and Health Club. He was also a huge fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Houston Rockets. He rarely missed watching a game and loved attending in person.
He will be remembered for his unique personality and for always being himself.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rose and Roger Alke, his daughter Stephanie Alke, his brother Brian Alke and his nephew Devon Alke. He is survived by his wife Marie Alke, daughter Magali Alke, sister Karen Hess, brother Jeffery Alke and sister-in-law Dorothy Alke, nieces Laura Young, Sarah Finney, Kayla Hess and Amber Green, nephews Alexander Alke and Aaron Alke, and all his in laws, Guy and Rita Hrycak and son Fabien, Ghyslaine Delgado and her children Lucas and Marie and their families, Annie and Joel Parent.
A memorial service for Andy will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Brookside Funeral Home---Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095
