Anita Jean Miles was born in Cleveland, Texas, to William Holcomb and Cleola Wade Holcomb. She was one of six children. In 1953, the family relocated to Houston, Texas, where Anita attended public schools in the Houston Independent School District.
In 1986, Anita Jean Miles united in marriage with Ray Charles Miles. Although no children were born to this union, she lovingly embraced her role as stepmother to Charles Michael and Darweshi Miles.
Anita dedicated many years of her life to working as a Home Healthcare Provider, where she was known for her compassion, reliability, and genuine care for her patients. In her free time, she found joy in cooking, shopping, watching television, listening to the radio, reading the Forward Times newspaper, and caring for her beloved dog and fish.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, William Holcomb and Cleola Holcomb; her brothers, Willie Ray Holcomb, Edward Earl Holcomb, and William Curtis Holcomb.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ray Charles Miles; her stepsons, Charles Michael and Darweshi Miles; her sisters, Clementine Boutte and Sandra Kay Holcomb-McBride; her brother-in-law, Arnold Laye Miles (Barbara); and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
