Ann was very proud of her American heritage which traces back to before the American Revolution. Also, Ann’s ancestors were among the earliest settlers in Texas who participated in Texas’ independence, surveyed towns, and built schools. Two ancestors served in the Republic of Texas Legislature in 1842 during Sam Houston’s second presidency.
