Anna Kelly Tarbutton

Anna was born in Corsicana, Texas, on January 22, 1930, and was raised in Houston, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Walter M. Rainey, Sr., and siblings, Walter M. Rainey, Jr., Beme Watts, Gigi Retzloff, Martha Helen Rainey, and Orval Lee Rainey. She was blessed with two wonderful husbands who preceded her in death. John R. Kelly, Sr. of Houston, married for 35 years, and Col. Jean D. Tarbutton, USAF (Retired) of Salado, married for 33 years. Her third child, Charles M. Kelly of Houston, Texas, preceded her in death in 1992.

She is survived by two children, Dr. John R. Kelly, Jr., PhD, and partner Linda Maiorana of Houston/Palacios, and Kathleen S. Kelly of Salado. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Chief Warrant Officer 3 (SEAL) John Kelly and his wife Kelli, Rainey Kelly Crow, Luke Kelly, and Anna-Marie Nagel, and eight great-grandchildren, Cole Kelly, Quinn Kelly, Penelope Kelly, John (Jack) Kelly, Neally Kelly-Allen, Charles Toomey, Lux Toomey, and Erin Toomey.

Anna lived a wonderful life in Salado and leaves behind many cherished friends. Anna and the family wish to thank her caregivers, Debra Gaines, Teresa, Jordan, Boysen, Breanna Cole, and Amedisys Hospice for their loving care. A private Episcopal graveside service will be held in Houston, Texas, at Forest Park Westheimer.
