Born September 27, 1945, in Evanston, Illinois, she was the eldest daughter of the late William Harry and Mary Ellen (Griswold) Middleton. She graduated in 1963 from Monticello Preparatory School in Godfrey, IL and attended The University of Oklahoma.
As a child, her most beloved dog was a boxer named, Marty. It is here that she developed a life-long passion for the breed. While living in Houston, Anne, volunteered much of her time with Lone Star Boxer Rescue. She later moved to the Texas Hill Country where she began volunteering with Austin Boxer Rescue. The needs and well being of this playful breed was always on the forefront of her heart and mind. It was her passion to foster and rescue these special companions. Anne’s most current efforts were in assisting with ABR’s campaign to buy a large kennel in Hewitt, TX so more boxers could be saved. She was also an avid gardener who was always planting flowers and vegetables to share with those who visited her.
Anne is survived by her children, Elizabeth Daly Valdes and husband Oscar, William Middleton Daly and wife Elizabeth, Sara Daly Edgecomb and husband Clark, and her seven grandchildren, Avery Elizabeth Valdes, Sean Patrick Daly, Ryan Middleton Daly, Erin Carmen Valdes, William Wyatt Edgecomb, Luke Daly Edgecomb, and Marshal Clark Edgecomb all of Houston, TX and her sister Mary M. Middleton of Citra, FL. Her brother, Johnnie Middleton, preceded her in death in infancy.
Friends are invited to a Memorial from 12-1 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079. The scattering of ashes will occur at a later date in the Texas Hill Country.
