She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. With her mother and older sisters, they worked diligently in their church, Hopewell and sang in the choir.
As a child she traveled to Omaha, Nebraska to live with her sister, Esther and brother-in-law, Elijah and became almost like their fourth daughter.
The beautiful Annie met and married a handsome soldier, Earl Clark and moved to Seattle, Washington. From that marriage five children were born: Belinda, Kent, Gwen, Randy and Dorian.
Annie completed two years of nursing school in Seattle. She would use that training to take care of her daughter Gwen who was born with cerebral palsy and needed constant care for fifty years, Annie devoted her life to her ill child as well as the other four and to her husband and whoever needed her. She managed to take on private duty patients as well.
One of her passions was traveling the world. Annie loved to cruise, take train rides, and long road trips and plane rides only when necessary.
Annie and Earl moved to Houston, for the health of their daughter Gwen. Annie lost no time in joining, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist church where she brought her kids up to love the Lord. Later years after the dismantling of that church she joined Wheeler Ave Baptist Church after the death of her husband and daughter, Gwen.
Annie was a fixture in her beautiful hats on Sunday. Her health kept her from participating as she had done in years past with mission work, but while she waited in the lobby for church to begin, she would minister and pray for anyone who needed it.
She passed away quietly in the hospital with loving family around her. Annie leaves to mourn four children: Belinda, Kent, Randy and Dorian. One son-in-law, Robert Craft. Two daughter-in-law’s: Fei and Susana. Granddaughters: Tiffany, Madison, Aime and Amy. And a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
