I was born Annie Lucille Poncik on September 8, 1934 in Georgewest, Texas. I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was 8 years old. I told Christ when he was ready for me I was ready. I have lead a wonderful life. If you laughed with me when I was alive, don't cry for me now.
I am survived by my two sons Charles (Peewee) and Alan Downing; daughter Debra K. Edwards; two daughters-in-laws Evelyn and Sherlene Downing; son-in-law Thomas Edwards, who I loved as my own children; nine loving grandchildren: Jeremy and Joshua Downing, Michael and Stephen Tucker, Tiffany Painter, Kimberly and Tommy Edwards, Joshua and Jeremy McCullar; my loving great-grandchildren: Morgan Downing, Chris Sanchez, Will and Owen Painter, Emma and Damien McCullar, James and Judge McCullar; brothers Bobby and Jimmy Poncik; sisters: Jolene Pospisil, Jean Benight, Peggy Grassi, Ruthie Barker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by my beloved husband of 28 years Charles Downing and daughter Cheryl A. Tucker; my dad and mom Mr. and Mrs. AJ Poncik; brother AJ Poncik, Jr., and sister Frances Grisham.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside service will occur Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
