History:
In 1975, Anthony was sponsored by Paul Muman’s lovely family in Pennsylvania. He came to America on a boat with nothing from Vietnam and has since been able to build 4 successful businesses in America alongside his supportive wife.
In 1983, he met Rose Huong So Ly at Vietnam Kitchen restaurant where she worked. He wanted to eat “bo la lot”, but he pretended that he didn’t know how to prepare the rolls so he asked her to roll it for him. From there, it started their union of 39 years. Both fiercely driven with immense work ethics, their love blossomed from a working partnership to a loving relationship and ultimately into a beautiful marriage on March 23, 1991.
He worked three jobs simultaneously and together with Rose aggressively saved money in order to build capital. Despite working over 80 hrs./week, he still kept his faith and attended weekly mass. With his hard work and the help of his wife Rose, he was able to sponsor his 2 parents and 10 siblings from Vietnam to Houston, TX and took care of them. His first business venture was opening the Lucky Way convenience store in 1987. From that success, he opened a second one, the Howard Food store in 1988. Seeking new business opportunities, he researched and founded his third business, TNN Manufacturing Company in 1992 with his business partners. In addition, he added a carwash in 1998 to his portfolio. In 2003, he then established Anthony and Rose’s Farm with his business partner who also happened to be his lovely wife. With his partners, he sold TNN in 2005 and then built KNJ Manufacturing Company in 2006 with his partner Sam Nguyen.
Besides work, he has developed and cherished many lifelong friends throughout the years. He was an observant man of few words, but was always equipped with lots of jokes. He was selfless in giving his time, money, energy, and love to anyone needing his assistance, be it family, friends, or a charitable organization.
His biggest goal in life was to see his children become successful and fulfilled. He worked tirelessly in order to be able to support Lynda, Richard, and Anna through college and allowed them to graduate debt free. Through his support, his 3 children were able to graduate from college and go on to successfully pursue each of their dream careers. He stood by their sides as Lynda became a piano instructor and business owner, Richard forged his own path building an e-commerce business, and Anna became a registered nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center on the same Leukemia floor that Anthony spent his last days.
Besides a brilliant businessman, he was our hero; a fiercely protective husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Ultimately, he never worked to achieve success for himself, but rather for any and all people he could help.
