

Antoinette Virginia Mattalino Dichiara passed away on Tuesday, the 15th of August 2023, after a long and crippling journey with vascular dementia. She was 83 years of age. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Antoinette was born on Christmas Eve in 1939 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Aline Marie Segrato and Ben Antone Mattalino. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School and St. Agnes Academy. She married the love of her life, Michael Anthony Dichiara, on the 2nd of July 1961. They were blessed with a son and two daughters.
Antoinette worked as a secretary for the Cy-Fair Independent School District for over 20 years, known by her colleagues as “Toni.” She enjoyed traveling, especially to casinos to try her luck on the slot machines. She never passed up playing card games or dominoes with her family especially her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Ladies of Sacred Heart, the St. Joseph Charity Guild and the Amiketas Club.
Antoinette was preceded in death by her parents, Aline Marie Segrato and Ben Antone Mattalino. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Michael Anthony Dichiara; her sister, Joan Sciantarelli; her brother, Angelo (Lucinda) Mattalino; her sisters in law, Frances Quartaro and Lena Mandola; her three children, Joe Dichiara, Donna (Tony) Listi and Elaina (Jeff) Piggott as well as her eight grandchildren: Nicole Dichiara, Michael Dichiara, Benjamin Dichiara, Madison Dichiara, Michael (Lexi) Listi, Andrew Listi, Renee Listi, Zachary Piggott and many loved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Wednesday the 30th of August, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive, in Houston, where recitation of the Holy Rosary is to commence at seven o’clock by the Ladies of Sacred Heart.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at half-past ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 31st of August, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, in Houston, where the Very Rev. Norbert Maduzia, Jr. is to serve as celebrant.
A private Rite of Committal will immediately follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
Honored to serve as pallbearers during the services are Michael Listi, Andrew Listi, Michael Dichiara, Benjamin Dichiara, Zachary Piggott, Joseph Corso, Brian Sciantarelli and Ben Mattalino.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Angelo Mattalino, Gerome D’Anna, Sr., Tommy Colonnetta and Paul Porcarello.
