Antonio Coello Flores, born January 17, 1935 passed away April 17, 2017. Everyone in the family knew who Tío Toño was. He was the fun-loving uncle who always played around and wanted to make everyone laugh in the process. His intentions were always noble and his family meant the world to him. He’s the kind of man who left a lasting impression with all he encountered. He was colorful and full of life and did his best to spread the same joy that filled his life to everyone around him.
He came to this country with his brother Jose Abel to build a better life for himself. He worked as a carpenter and didn’t know the meaning of the word “quit.” He exuded hard work and perseverance and showed it in every aspect of his life. He helped to teach his Spanish speaking daughter English by carrying around an English pocket dictionary and quizzing her every chance he had. He created an incredible life for his family and made sure they had everything they needed and more.
As a grandparent, he adored his grandchildren. He was always the life of the party when it came to his grandchildren. There was always a smile on their faces and a laugh on their lips when Grandpa was around. And no matter where he was or what he was doing, he always remembered everyone’s birthday. He never failed to call and wish you a happy birthday. I’m sure at some point or another, you got that call. His grandchildren will always cherish the fond memories they have of him. His energy, his spirit and the man everyone knew will definitely be missed by everyone.
He is survived by his wife Dora G. Flores.
